AIG Baker Announces Director of Marketing for The Wharf
Stacy Hamilton Atkins comes from WaterColor Inn and Resort to Join
The Wharf as its Director of Marketing
May 23, 2005, Orange Beach, Alabama – AIG Baker is pleased to announce the appointment of Stacy Hamilton Atkins as Director of Marketing, The Wharf. Stacy comes to The Wharf from WaterColor Inn and Resort in Seagrove Beach, Florida, where she most recently served as Resort Marketing Director for this wholly owned subsidiary of St. Joe Towns and Resorts. In her most recent capacity, Stacy oversaw all facets of marketing during a period of time that saw WaterColor evolve into one of the most prestigious resort destinations in America.
In her role as Marketing Director, Stacy will oversee all aspects relative to the branding, positioning and marketing of The Wharf and it’s many components. “While it was our desire to have our Marketing Director on board much earlier, we refused to compromise in our search for the best resort marketing talent available,” says Beason Wilkes, AIG Baker’s Director of Development-Gulf Coast. “Each year millions of people will visit The Wharf to take advantage of The Wharf’s shopping, dining, entertainment and marina amenities. Only by having someone of Stacy’s caliber to oversee the marketing component can we be assured that each consumer experience will be maximized.”
As avid boaters, Stacy and her husband, Captain Rob Atkins, look forward to enjoying the many waterways found throughout South Baldwin County. Originally from Baton Rouge, they have always considered the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area to be an ideal vacation destination and are excited to now call the gulf coast of Alabama home.
The Wharf, located on the island along the Intracoastal Waterway, will be the largest mixed-use development on the Alabama Gulf Coast. With its vast array of retail, The Wharf will become the dining, shopping and entertainment destination on the Gulf Coast. Plans include a full-service public/private marina with over 200 boat slips, over 740 generously appointed condominiums, and up to a million square feet of upscale retail shops, restaurants and prime office space.
