The Wharf Takes Shape
Another coming destination already attracting attention is The Wharf, a mixed-use, coastal resort destination on Orange Beach's Intracoastal Waterway. Developer AIG Baker reports that work has already begun on the site, which spans more than 220 acres in South Baldwin County.
The Wharf is expected to become the largest mixed-use development on the Alabama Gulf Coast, with a full-service, public/private marina with boat slips able to accommodate boats up to 100 feet. The Wharf will also feature over 740 generously-appointed condominiums, hotels, upscale shopping, restaurants and prime restaurant space. A half-mile boardwalk will boast a multi-story ferris wheel, nightlife plaza, movie theater, open-air amphitheater, nature trails, tennis courts, swimming pools, health club and spa. From the myriad recreational, shopping and entertainment options to the natural beauty of the area, AIG Baker has designed The Wharf as an all-in-one resort destination for a unique coastal lifestyle.
